PRODUCTION

This video was produced in tandem with America's Most Dangerous Import exclusively behind Atlas News' paywall. This video was designed with the expectation that it may be released for free on YouTube in the future, and as such algorithmic performance indicators were taken into account.

The journalist chose a unique topic, discussing a potentially double-edged Yemen aid project by the Saudi Arabian government. I aided him in conveying this complex geopolitical topic to a layman's audience within a reasonable runtime.

SCRIPT EDITING

I helped the journalist model their script around a "heist-board" concept. This involved collaborating on gathering research and asset gathering to ensure that his vision came to life.

We went through several script iterations to simplify advanced concepts and smooth out the narrative's flow.

VIDEO EDITING

I managed and collaborated with a skilled editor on this project. We utilized a custom content review system I crafted for Atlas News to ensure that the product met the quality standards of the publication.

I took the liberty of editing several important portions of the video entirely myself. This includes everything before the introduction, shown above, and multiple particularly tricky scenes that required extreme accuracy.

ANIMATION

The journalist's chosen topic for this video lacked a readily available and interesting visual element, something that is common in many of the videos I've produced.

This required multiple fully animated 3D scenes to be constructed as visual aids for the viewer.

All of these shots were made by me, with input from the journalist to improve accuracy and tone.
